Tire Rack: Revolutionizing tire buying since 1979.

Just saying hi after an almost 3 year trip to Germany.

So I haven't been in here in I don't really know how long. As some of you may remember I was sent to live in Bavaria, Germany for work where I've been enjoying all that it has to offer. I have decided to retire after 21 years of service and will be moving back to Columbia, SC and starting a new job (unknown) and spending my spare time working on cars. Before I left I traded in my C300 C-class 6MT car and bought a 2013 Mustang GT Track Package care with Recaros. Needless to say it's been fun driving American Muscle around Europe. I've done laps at the Nurburgring and Hockenheimring with it and had a blast in the process. I even drove from Nuremberg south all the way to the Amalfi coast on the eastern coast of Italy just south of Naples. That was an amazing experience. I'm selling the Mustang before I leave here so I don't have to ship it back and it's going to a good friend of mine who is a German National. He's a member of our car club here in Germany as well.

I'm going to be in the market for a new to me Euro when I get back. I think I have narrowed it down to 3 different cars. One, nice 330Ci ZHP, I have found a couple so far in the area. Two, E46M coupe 6MT (no SMG for me), also found a couple. And lastly, E9X M3. I will probably get one of the first two and save for the 3rd and then use the E9X for my daily and turn the other into a track day car.

I have loved being here in Germany but I'm really ready to get back to America and specifically the Carolinas. Hopefully some of you remember me and I will see you at a Cars and Coffee sometime after mid August.

Prost!!!!!, Steve

Thanks. I'm looking closely for a car to replace the Mustang that is getting sold here in the next month. I am searching and keeping tabs on certain cars daily. My wife is getting a little annoyed but whatever. Ha ha. I did take her on a test drive in a 228 6MT/Premium car the other day and she enjoyed it. We will see. I can't wait to move into the next chapter.

So I ended up purchasing the 228. I was just too good of a deal to pass up. I'm shipping it back to the states this week. Was going to be tomorrow but as with almost everything in Germany something went wrong and it's inconvenient. So far I love the car. Get's great mileage, sparkles nicely in the sun, I love the Terra Cotta leather, handles pretty well. I even went to the Hockenheimring to shake her down a bit with a couple of friends. Tons of fun. Here are some pictures and vids.
