I have an escort 8500 x50 hard wired to my m3 and the suction cups are just not cutting it. (Come loose about once a week) Anyone have any suggestions for alternative ways of mounting it? I'd lay it on the dash but the contour does not allow for it.

As you know the highest point (next to the rear view mirror) is the best place to mount
your radar detector. Have you tried cleaning the area thoroughly or gotten replacement
suction cups? They should be more than enough to cut it. Sometimes my Valentine
does not want to stay up, but all it needs is a good cleaning of the area/suction cups and
it is fine.

I just put mine back together. I have a decent Cobra that I have had for a while and the speaker blew out. I just got around to going to Radio Shack today and bought another speaker for it. A little solder and good as new. Clean the stuff with alcohol like they said. That's what works for me. Unless it's just that hot out then there really isn't much you can do.

bit of an oxymoron, eh? :P

You have a couple options...the supercup got good reviews, but I'd imagine it would be hard to mount it as high as it needs to be with its size. I'd just pick up a new set of suction cups.
Visor clip mount is also an option, albeit with less readability than windshield mounting.
