I am trying to piece together a 6 speed swap for my e36 BMW sedan and I am in need of either an e36 m3 auto driveshaft or a shop that can shorten my stock one to fit.

Any suggestions on who could do that work and not try to become wealthy off this single job?

If you are going to have work done on it then I'd go to http://www.driveshaftshop.com/.  I was going through axles on an old volvo @ 600hp and they modfied one from an SUV for me.  Eurowise if you can use an OEM one but not if there is cutting involved.
