Personally I agree with BMW_Driver in that we need a change. I'm not completely sold on Obama, but I'm hoping he'll win the Dem ticket. With that said, I think his speech was brilliant and incredibly genuine.
speech is here in case you missed it

Another note of interest. They did an ancestry report on Obama and it appears he is related to Bush, I find that hilarous.

Vote for either one of these folks and you can kiss those good tax breaks you've had the last 8 years good bye. Do this for me, take some time to figure out how much money has gone back into your pocket from the Tax cuts. Then decide if you want to elect someone who I GUARANTEE will take those away and INCREASE your tax burden! Guess what you can kiss that new modification that you wanted to do to your Euro car good bye too!
It was said earlier and it was right on. Vote Democrats and you'll get the shittiest health care system out there. Yeah for the first couple years might go good but it will quickly fall apart. Think about this you don't see alot of folks going to Military hospitals to get a heart transplant do you. Why? Well just think about it a second! Why do folks from Europe, Canada, and other countries fly here for the best treatment. Not cause the government runs it I guarantee you that, otherwise they'd stay in their own countries and get it. This is a broke and ignorant way to fix anything in our country. Tell me where are all the folks getting denied health care. When was the last time you saw a person walking on the street with a broken leg that they couldn't get fixed? Answer! They get it fixed. Those that need health care get it! Enough on this!
Last if you vote Obama, someone who doesn't hold their hand over their heart during the national anthem, probably wouldn't even remove his hat if he had one, and supports a preacher that spits out the most racist and anti-american crap I've heard in a long time your naive and cretinous . You ask me who's racist, his preacher is. Number two, Opra used to go to this church and quite cause she disagreed with the bigotry Reverend Wright was putting out. Tell me how can Obahma go to this church for 20 years and say he doesn't 1) Agree with it 2) Didn't know that Reverend Wright was saying these things during Sunday services that he attended. Obama a Unit'r I call him a Divider!

Obama's preacher preached truth IMO. He talked about America in a raw manner and while he was a bit over zealous at times during his speeches he preached about how the predominately (sp) white europeans came to America and stole the land, and it doesn't take a very long walk back in History to see the wrong doings that American leaders have done. Also MLK, Jr.'s speaches were much in the same vien as that preacher, not the speaches he is famous for but the speaches he gave early in his career. And now MLK is celebrated. Now that doesn't mean there hasn't been any good done, don't get me wrong. We have done some good and this country is the only place in the world I would want to be in this day and age. But I have to believe that we (America) has done as much bad as good. We gave blankets infected with disease to the Indians on purpose for god's sake. What kind of karma do you get for doing this like that? Look around and you will see the consequences. Look at how we treated black people. Yeah times have changed but it wasn't that long ago things were different.
Obama, might not hold his hand over his heart during the national anthem but I haven't seen this in person so I can't comment. All I can say is that maybe he didn't do it in the past and just like his wife said about "the first time in her adult life, she is proud of America". I can't say I don't agree with her. There have been several instances over the last eight years I felt very similar. With Obama, people are finally realizing that the President doesn't have to be the most experienced, richest, most well connected person in the country. Obama has no one in his back pocket unlike the last five presidents and when you talk about wasting money, they reported a few days ago about "earmark money". That is money that is used for research of some bullshit programs most of the time. It amounts to 17 billion a year. 1-3 million go to grape and wine research, 2 million to lobster association, just a waste of money to most. Hillary Clinton earmarked 200 million last year, Obama earmarked 30 million or so. It was greatly less, bad thing was they didn't say what the earmarked money was for between the two of them.
Again, everyone has their own views and I love a good debate but my vote will be going to Obama. Truthfully I would like to see Obama pick his VP as Condelleza Rice (I know I butchered her name). She is no joke and has been through some mud. Bottom line is, it's time for a change and some fresh views. It's also time to stop wasting 2 billion a month on a war that hasn't done jack other than keep the military personnel busy with work (sorry usmc_99). My friend that works with Blackwater and Triple Canopy would certainly want McCain so that he could stay employed for 4 more years. Remember 2 BILLION, think about that. I get the paper everyday and I swear there are deaths over there almost 3 times a week.

Finally! Someone else on this site see's through obamas lies, bigotry, and just utter crap he spews from his mouth. He talks about all this "change" but never actually says what this "change" is....Don't get me started on hillary either. I'm voting for the old man, he's by far the best of the three. He wouldn't be my number one choice by a long-shot if there were other worth-while people. We need another Regan, or FDR who doesn't put up with any bullshit, doesn't try and keep everyone happy....he just goes out and gets shit done, not matter the "collateral damage". Everyone in the world today is WAY to fixated on hurting everyones feelings, and what everyone else thinks

Yep, me too and here's why:
Remember the election in 2006?
Thought you might like to read the following:
A little over one year ago:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.
Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen:
1) Consumer confidence plummet;
2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3.50 a gallon;
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses);
5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars;
6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
America voted for change in 2006, and we got it!
Remember it's Congress that makes law not the President. He has to work with what's handed to him.
A liberal is a person who will give away everything they don't own.
